SAMBURU SIMBA LODGE

Samburu Simba Lodge is located in Buffalo Springs National Reserve 300 km north of Nairobi, within Isiolo District. Samburu Simba Lodge was designed such that it has unobstructed viewpoint to the activities at the river bank. You can see the river banks and the waterhole from either your room terraces, at the lodge or restaurant. Herds of elephants roaming by, troops of baboons trying to drink water but hesitant because of the crocodiles in the river.

Rooms at the Samburu Simba Lodge are spacious, well furnished with a reading desk and several lounge chairs. The bathrooms have a shower with warm or cold water. The rooms have an over head fan, telephone extension and reading desk. A visitor will very much like the large terrace that faces the river valley below, especially in the morning when there is bird life and elephants roaming.

SAMBURU GAME LODGE

SAROVA SHABA LODGE

Sarova Shaba lodge is a luxury lodge located on the periphery of Shaba National Reserve overlooking the crocodile infested Uaso Nyiro river.  It has 80 thatchedroofed bedrooms all air conditioned, one superior suite and four luxury suites, all including private bath and shower, hot and cold running water. The superior suite has a Jacuzzi.  Facilities include 1 swimming pool featuring a waterfall and small islands, laundry service, a medical clinic, a restaurant and 2 bars, game drives, camel safaris (guided by Samburu warriors!), traditional dance from the local Samburu people, bird-spotting, guided nature walks, dining with the locals.

The lodge basks in a legacy bequeathed by Joy Adamson of the ‘Born Free’ fame. She was wife of a prominent conservationist, George Adamson, who was a senior game warden of the area. Joy raised her adopted animals next door to the current Sarova Shaba Lodge’s site.

SAMBURU SERENA LODGES

Samburu Serena Lodge is located in Samburu National Reserve in a strategic location overlooking the jugged mountains and its own indigenous animals such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra and the Somali ostrich. It has 62 rooms all air conditioned with separate bathe and shower, mini-bars, in-room safety locks and television sets. The rooms also have private verandah overlooking Ewaso Nyiro river. Facilities include a restaurant and a bar, game drives, camel safaris, swimming pool, hosted game drives and bird walks.

ASHNIL SAMBURU LODGE

Ashnil Samburu Lodge boast of 24 exclusive comfortable deluxe tents each with perfect views of the Uaso Nyiro River, the surrounding beautiful landscapes and all the animallife that this brown river supports.  This lodge is wheelchair friendly and it offer accommodation in tents for the disabled.

Every spacious tent consists of a king size bed, dressing area, sitting area, luggage rack, in door shower and toilet facilities among other facilities to provide a memorable stay close to nature feeling without denying it’s visitors the comforts of the modern world.

The main guest area, shaded by a canopy of acacia trees consists of the reception, lounge area, dining area, bar, and veranda deck with a view of the river. Guest rooms are spread out in 12 tents either side of the Main building.

SAMBURU INTREPIDS CLUB

Samburu Intrepids Club is located deep inside Samburu National Reserve. This luxury tented camp offers 27 modern tents with a private view over the wildlife- rich riverbanks. Facilities include free form swimming pool with sunbathing terrace, conference room, safety deposit boxes, board games and a boutique with souvenirs and safari essentials.

JOY’S CAMP

Joy’s Camp is built on the site of Joy Adamson’s tented home in Shaba National Reserve. The site was also home to Penny the leopard, the heroine of her last book. The 10 chic canvas bedrooms are set raised off the ground with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. The camp overlooks a large natural spring where elephant and lion jostle for watering rights with herds of buffalo and the rare desert species of Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffe and Grevy’s zebra. Each tent at Joy’s Camp has its own private veranda, ideal for game viewing as well as relaxing, reading and soaking up the truly wild environs offered by Shaba.

ELEPHANT WATCH SAFARI CAMP

The Elephant Watch Safari Camp, perched on a sloping riverbank beneath great Kigelia and Acacia trees, is home to some of the largest elephant bulls in Samburu. Greater kudu and impalas stop by to eat seedpods, as do a multitude of birds and monkeys, and sometimes a leopard comes to hunt in the darkness. A special inhabitant of Samburu is the Grevy’s zebra. Here too is a host of predators, lion, cheetah, hyena, leopard, and on rare occasions, wild dog.

SENTRIM SAMBURU LODGE

Sentrim Samburu Lodge is located deep inside the Samburu National Game Reserve. Samburu National Reserve is famous for it’s “Special five” –the rare Reticulated Giraffe, long necked Gerenuk Antelope, Somali Ostrich, Grevy’s zebra, and Majestic Beisa Oryx and other species, including elephant, leopard and lion.

This luxurious tented lodge offers 20 luxurious and comfortable deluxe tents spread out along the shady banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River with a private view over the wildlife – rich riverbanks. The spacious tents boasts the very latest in luxury camping, with soft beds, en suite bathroom with steaming hot shower. The bathroom also offers a washbasin, flush toilet and sockets for shavers.  The main guest area consists of the reception, lounge area, restaurant and bar, gift shop and a bar lounge with a view of the river.
